So how do you balance the show? People want interviews and others want discussion. Personally I love both especially if we can tie our banter in with the interview in some way or another. Discussion episodes are great IF the topic is relevant, you can talk a LOT about it and STAY on the topic. Believe me it is easy to get sidetracked but I suppose that can make it good too. If you have too many discussion episodes back to back you are in danger of repeating yourselves and then what do you do.
We are in a lucky position at the moment because we have a lot of interviews done that we have yet to use and believe you and me that’s a great thing. Yet we don’t want to run an episode with only interviews either. We can get interview times ranging from 20 or so minutes to over an hour depending on the artist. The length and quality of the interview dictates the show. If it’s long and great then what do you leave out? Then you add the track of the week on top of that.
I’ve been lucky in getting some interviews done lately and our base for getting these has widened considerably. So hopefully many great ones to come. We will always chat too so that’s never going away. It’s just a feast or a famine one way or the other.
